James Messer, Co-Founder, President and CEO
James has spent the past 18 years focused on the telecommunications and IT industries. He served as Vice President of Sales for LHS Group, one of the largest implementation and support networks in the global customer care and billing marketplace with more than 300 customer sites worldwide and 18 global and regional partners. James later served as Vice President of Sales for Sema Group plc, which became the world leader in communications software and solutions after the acquisition of LHS for $4.75 billion. Sema then surpassed all global competitors in revenue, subscribers, sites and solutions. Related to B/OSS, James also served in senior management positions for CSG Systems, US Telecom Advanced Telecom Service (sold to CSG) and TechnoCom Wireless – a leader in wireless location-based services. Additionally, James also served as Vice President of Federal Programs for Schlumberger (NYSE: SLB), and served on the staff of U.S. Senate Leader Bob Dole focusing on telecommunications, IT and foreign policy. James also participates as a partner in Spectrum Five LLC, the largest holder of DBS spectrum with full U.S. coverage.
Geoff Coleman, Chief Operating Officer
Geoff has over 25 years of technology experience, with a 20-year focus on the billing industry. Prior to joining Transverse, Geoff was associate vice president for business support service product offerings at Comverse. Coleman led Product Management through the creation and market introduction of Comverse ONE. Comverse is the world’s leading provider of software and systems for converged billing, customer management, mobile Internet, and value-added services whose customer base spans more than 125 countries and covers over 450 communication service providers serving more than two billion subscribers. Prior to Comverse, Geoff led product management for RateIntegration, now Sixth Sense Media, a provider of real-time mobile marketing, loyalty, and advertising solutions.
Paul Tindall, Chief Technology Officer
Paul has built his career around finding cost-effective and pragmatic ways to deliver complex software solutions. His professional experience includes roles of software engineering manager, technical leader and CTO, with companies focused on multi-tenant, high-availability software as a service (SaaS) models built to enterprise standards. Before Transverse, he founded and was CTO and Director of Engineering at CreativeLink Technologies|SiteBlox.com, an Austin-based SaaS web content management, portal and commerce platform provider. He was the CTO of iPath Solutions, a boutique startup consulting firm focused on custom Java-based projects, which was subsequently acquired by NASDAQ-listed Perficient, where Paul worked with numerous Fortune 500 clients. Paul also worked as the Technical Director for Emerging.com, a consultancy and systems development provider, and was a Software Development Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer for Compaq. Paul holds MBA and Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degrees, as well as a patent for a manufacturing-related algorithm.
Stephan Pahlke, Senior Vice President of Implementation
For the past 18 years, Stephan has worked around the globe managing the full life-cycle of complex billing implementations and operations – from solution architecture and customer requirements through customer support. Originally from Hamburg, Germany, Stephan comes to Transverse from Ericsson/LHS – one of the most influential and largest billing solutions providers in the world. There Stephan was responsible for product, business, and technical strategy development for major accounts. Stephan helped Ericsson become a global leader in next-generation billing by focusing on solutions for cutting-edge business models and contributed to Ericsson’s vision for next-generation BSS architectures. Prior to Ericsson/LHS, Stephan ran product management for the deployment of an on-demand service offering for a complete back-office solution at NextWave Wireless. In addition, Stephan’s past experience includes senior positions at EDS (now HP), Intec Telecom Systems (now CSG Systems) and Digiquant (now Volubill).
Tim Pflugradt, Vice President of Sales Engineering
Tim brings more than 25-years of end-to-end billing and customer management to Transverse. Tim was the Director of Sales Engineering at ACE*COMM, where he supported a global sales effort of telecommunications back-office solutions. Tim was one of the original employees of Birch Telecom, a CLEC with services in 26 states. His roles included Chief Architect and Developer of Birch’s first retail rating, mediation and billing system. Tim also led Birch’s Systems Administration and Development with expertise in data migration from legacy back-office and billing systems. Prior to Birch, Tim co-founded a software development company that specialized in billing solutions; in fact, he helped develop the client software for Qualcomm’s OmniTracs platform – a project that became part of the foundation of one of Qualcomm main product lines, which remains active today. Tim’s company also provided a turnkey billing and accounting solution to mid-range logistics companies throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Rob Lowe, Vice President of Human Capital
Rob has a knack for finding the right talent to build great teams, while helping existing employees excel in their positions. He has 20 years’ experience helping companies find and retain the best talent and has helped Transverse recruit talent since its inception in 2008, working as a consultant before joining the team himself in January 2014. Previously, Rob was Managing Partner at Talent Wranglers, a company he founded. He developed and led the Recruitment Process Outsourcing practice as a Partner with Coolhires and has also worked in Leadership roles at industry giants like CDI and TEK Systems.
